Sunday, April 29, we headed to Lingen, Germany, for the international show held there. We had an outside ring, but the weather was not so good. It stayed dry, but the wind was very cold. When arriving things started not so well immediately. The organization thought that James was a Border Collie... Of course he is, he has such long legs, doesn't he! When settled by the ring, I saw that we had a change of judge, which was not told before. I didn't know who the judge was, and as became clear later, she didn't have a clue what a Cardigan was. She even asked what color a blue merle Cardi had... Well, James competed in champion class and although he did very well, he gained the third place with an excellent, judged by mrs. Voye (DE). When I asked her about her decision, she pointed out that his feet turned out and this is permanently not true! I'm glad there's always a next time ;) Even though the results were not what we hoped for, we had a nice day with some nice company! James' son was there too and Aurin (Just a Gigolo from the Wonderful Oz) competed in puppy class. He gained the first place and went Best Puppy. It's was great to see him! James got a very nice collar made by Mandy, who owns Hazel (I Am What I Am from the Wonderful Oz) and Froop (Waggerland Goodnight Girl). Thanks to her also for making the photos of James in the ring. Our next German show will be Saarbrücken next month, so we'll see how that goes then.
Zondag 29 april 2012 gingen we vroeg op pad naar Lingen, Duitsland, voor de internationale show die daar gehouden werd. We zaten in een buitenring, maar het weer was niet zo goed. Het bleef gelukkig wel droog, maar de wind was erg koud. Al bij het arriveren ging het niet zo goed. De organisatie dacht dat James een Border Collie was... Natuurlijk, hij heeft ook zulke lange poten! Eenmaal gesetteld bij de ring zag ik dat we een keurmeesterwissel hadden, die niet van tevoren was aangekondigd. Ik had nog nooit van deze keurmeester gehoord, en later bleek al snel dat ze geen idee had wat een Cardigan was. Ze vroeg zelfs aan iemand met een blue merle Cardi wat voor kleur dat was... Goed, James deed mee in de kampioensklasse en ook al deed hij het erg goed, hij kreeg de derde plaats met een uitmuntend onder mw. Voye (DE). Toen ik haar naar haar besluit vroeg, liet ze weten dat James' voeten te veel naar buiten draaiden. Dit is echt, maar dan ook echt niet waar! Gelukkig is er altijd een andere keer ;) Ook al waren de resultaten niet zoals we gehoopt hadden, hebben we toch een leuke dag gehad met leuk gezelschap! James' zoon was er ook en Aurin (Just a Gigolo from the Wonderful Oz) deed mee in de puppyklasse. Hij behaalde de eerste plaats en werd Beste Pup. Het was erg leuk om hem te zien! James heeft een heel mooie halsband gekregen, gemaakt door Mandy, eigenaresse van Hazel (I Am What I Am from the Wonderful Oz) en Froop (Waggerland Goodnight Girl). Ook bedankt Mandy voor het maken van de foto's van James in de ring. Onze volgende Duitse show zal in Saarbrücken zijn volgende maand, dus we zullen zien hoe het gaat dan.
